A). We only recommend HDMI to HDMI connections for this product.

A). Yes, the adapter will run hot after periods of use but it should not damage your laptop or its connected devices. The operating temperature of the adapter is 86-122°F.
Q). Would this work with Nintendo switch?
A). The Multi-Port Adapter is not compatible with the Nintendo Switch.
Q). Does it need to be plugged in with the charger, or will all the ports work ok on the MacBook's battery alone?
A). No, you don't need to plugged with the charger in order to use this Multi-Port. And it works fine with battery itself.

A). Yes, the USB Ports will be able to charge your iPhone 6s Plus.
Q). Can the pass-through usb-c connection be used for 4K@60hz video instead of power on a 15" MacBook Pro mid-2017?
A). Unfortunately the Type-C port on this hub is only capable of pass through charging to the host computer and does not allow for any kind of data transfer which means no you would not be able to use it for video display. We do however have another Satechi product, the Aluminum Type-C Pro Hub Adapter, which does have this capability on one USB-C port for video display.
Q). Will this work with Bootcamp on my 2016 MacBook Pro with TouchBar?
No, the Multi-Port will not be compatible with Windows via Bootcamp on Macbooks.
