A). Pro Hub's chip set will allow you to connect a total of 2 monitors from both the USB-C and HDMI port.
Q). Is it possible to plug the apple usb-c to hdmi multiport adapter into the hub thunderbolt port to provide an additional hdmi port?
A). Yes! You can plug in a USB-C to HDMI adapter into the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) Port on the Pro Hub for additional video output.
Q). Is it possible to use a dual hdmi splitter on the Thunderbolt3 port to use 3 monitors in total?
A).The Pro Hub will allow for video output over the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port and through the included HDMI port on the adapter.
Q). Can this be used with a hard shell case around the Macbook?
A). No, since the Pro Hub sits flush against the side of the Macbook, you will not be able to use a case around the Macbook.
Q). With this Type-C Pro Hub adapter, will i will be able to charge my 2017 Macbook Pro and connect to an additional screen via hdmi at the same time?
A). Yes, you can charge through the Thunderbolt 3 and video output to an additional screen via HDMI.
Q). Does this allow for bi-directional transfer of data (and photos) particularly photos onto USB devices?
A). Yes, the Pro Hub allows data transfer between your USB devices and your MacBook Pro.
Q). What is the advantage of pro hub when compare to satechi aluminum multi-port adapter 4k hdmi (30hz), type-c pass through, ethernet, sd/micro card read?
A).Both the Pro Hub and Multi-Port are part of our Type-C collection and are geared towards MacBook Pro users. However, the main feature of the Pro Hub is that it adds a Thunderbolt 3 port, for up to 40Gb/s data transfer, up to 5K video display capabilities and pass through charging. The Pro Hub also adds another Type-C port, in addition to the Thunderbolt 3, to fulfill more data transfer needs. It also features all of the Multi-Port Adapter's original ports, with the exception of the Ethernet.
Also, the way it connects to your MacBook differs on both models. The Pro Hub uses two-pronged Type-C connectors for steady, consistent connection and fits relatively flush to your laptop. The Multi-Port connects with a short wire to your Type-C port.
Q). Do usb 3.0 ports charge iOs devices?
A). Yes, just not the larger devices like iPads, and the larger iPhones.
Q). Can I use a HDMI to VGA converter with this hub? i mean, the converter plugged into HDMI port.
A). Video output through the HDMI port will only work with a direct HDMI to HDMI connection and therefore will not display video using a DVI or VGA connection. If you have a Thunderbolt 3 to VGA converter you can use the Thunderbolt 3 port of the hub to display video however the HDMI port requires a direct HDMI connection.
Q). Will this work on a MacBook Air?
A). Unfortunately, no it will not work with your MacBook Air. Our Pro Hub has two Type-C connector prongs so it is compatible with 2016/2017 MacBook Pros.
